Where Variety is the Spice of Life!
Breakfast time, Anytime
Start your day and your event off right with hot or room temperature day-breaking delicacies. In addition to bagel and pastry trays with all the fixins’, we can provide a variety of wraps, sandwiches & beverages!
Lunch and Informal Buffets
Made-to order trays and/or box lunches, as well as entree & side salads, are the perfect way to prevent mid-meeting burnout and keep people focused on the fun or your message—not their hunger!
Dinner & Cocktails
We can cater any event with a mix of hot or room-temperature entrees and hors d’oeuvres. We also have licensed bar staff available if you require something “special” for drink service.
We love what we do, and it shows through our clients’ thoughtful post-event messages. Here are just a few words from past customers:
Everything was so well presented and absolutely delish! My uncle has not stopped singing your praises. Thank you for remembering little things like gluten free needs.
I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful food and delivery service yesterday. Both were outstanding! We had many compliments on the food. Thanks again for all your help – we really look forward to working with AllSpice for our next event!
Thank you for providing our lunch. I received wonderful feedback from the group. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and asked who had provided it. I loved that sandwiches were labeled too.
Rich, you and your crew did an outstanding job and we couldn’t have been happier with the way the whole day turned out. The food was delicious, the salmon was outstanding.
Everything was superb & went very smoothly! I am very happy that you were able to cater our breakfast-on-the-go and I look forward to the months ahead.

Rich’s great-grandparents founded and operated the popular Bonnie Doone Restaurant & Thistle Cocktail Lounge in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The business started as a humble ice cream stand and grew to a full service restaurant with three dining rooms seating over 300 people.
Three generations of Rich’s family devoted fifty years running all aspects of the business from the kitchen to the hostess station. The family restaurant had been sold by the time Rich and Liz met one summer while working at an Italian restaurant in Cape Cod. For Liz it was a summer job but for Rich it was his hometown and a passion. Now, the Vizards are happy to carry on the family tradition in the DMV of providing excellent hospitality and great value.
The Allspice Team
The Allspice team is a tight-knit group of foodies. We couldn’t do it without the dedicated effort of these folks, whose everyday teamwork delivers phenomenal customer service and fabulous food to Arlington at our Cafe and to our many catering clients.
Our sincere thanks go out to each of them!
Rich Vizard, Owner
Rich literally grew up in the restaurant business. As a kid he took naps in his family’s Cape Cod restaurant while his father ran the kitchen and his mother was the hostess.
After college, Rich spent time in the financial sector before being pulled back into the restaurant industry by a neighbor’s new catering business. Experiences there and with some of DC’s largest catering and event experts, as well as a directorship at a national chain, gave him the know-how to strike out on his own.
Owning Allspice brings Rich's skills full circle. In addition to his passion for operating Allspice, Rich loves his family, all his dogs past and present, playing hockey, golf, fishing and rooting for Boston area teams. He may or may not be addicted to hazelnut ice coffee.
Liz Vizard, Co-owner
Through college in the mid 1990’s, Liz studied biology and was a volunteer manager of an on-campus coffeehouse cabaret where she learned to make espresso drinks and top-notch cheesy nachos. She spent a couple summers waiting tables at a popular, waterside restaurant in Provincetown before deciding to move to Washington, DC.
When Liz isn’t behind the desk she can be found at the cafe doing whatever needs to be done. She enjoys being social with “friends” and “followers” of Allspice and posting about events, friends, and food. Liz’s passion for food & vegetarian lifestyle come through as new menu ideas and creative ways to “vegan-ize” dishes.
Liz loves soup and isn’t embarrassed to say she could eat it every day.
